Is ReelShort free?

ReelShort is free to download and free to start, but a typical series only lets you watch about 9 or 10 episodes before it asks for coins or a VIP subscription. So the honest answer is "partly".

There is one real exception, and it's bigger on ReelShort than anywhere else. In our catalog of 4,676 ReelShort series, 276 (about 6%) are free from the first episode to the last. That sounds small, and it is, but on DramaBox, GoodShort, ShortMax and NetShort the same share is under 1%.

How many ReelShort episodes are free?

How do ReelShort coins and subscriptions work?

Locked episodes are paid for in one of two ways: you spend coins on them, or you hold an active subscription, which ReelShort's App Store description says lets you watch all of its series for free while it lasts.

What the official pages confirm, as of October 22, 2026:

  • The subscription is weekly. The App Store description says it is valid for 7 days, billed weekly and renewed automatically until you cancel. It also notes that the actual price may vary by region.
  • US App Store price list. The in-app purchase list shows a $19.99 subscription and one-time purchases from $4.99 to $29.99. Apple doesn't say what each one-time purchase contains, so we can't tell you how many coins a given price buys.
  • Google Play lists in-app items from $0.09 to $199.99 per item.
  • Coins are final. ReelShort's terms of use say virtual currency can be earned in the app or bought, can't be transferred, and purchases are non-refundable unless Crazy Maple Studio decides otherwise.

We didn't find an official coin-per-episode price or a published coin exchange rate. Both vary by region and change often, so check the store screen in the app before you top up.

Legit ways to get more free ReelShort episodes

The official route is inside the app: watching optional ads and completing rewarded tasks. That's how ReelShort itself describes it when answering reviews on its App Store page, adding that "no payment is ever required". The terms back this up by treating coins as something you can earn as well as buy.

ReelShort doesn't publish how many coins an ad or a task pays, and the amounts move around, so we won't quote numbers. Two practical points instead:

  1. Start with the fully free series. Nearly 300 of them need no coins at all.
  2. Ignore anything outside the app that promises free or unlimited coins. It isn't an official channel, and the terms forbid trading coins outside the service.

Can I watch ReelShort on a computer?

Yes. ReelShort's website has a browser player, and paid episodes are locked there just as they are in the app. The App Store also lists the iPhone app as compatible with Macs that have an Apple M1 chip or later.

Can I get a refund on ReelShort coins?

Usually not. The terms call all sales of virtual currency final and non-refundable, except where Crazy Maple Studio chooses to make an exception.

How do I cancel a ReelShort subscription?

Open the VIP page in the app and follow the Subscription Management steps. If you subscribed through Apple, cancel under Subscriptions in your Apple ID settings at least 24 hours before the next renewal.
